About
A Bit of Background
The trust was established in 1982 and registered with the Charity Commission. Prior to that date, the Hall was known as Hilcott Parish Room or Hilcott Church Room and dates to the early 20th century. An extension was built on in the early 1950s. Refurbishment to the hall took place in 1998. The photo above was the hall in 2017.

The village hall was the hub of the community with many events being held there until November 2019. Unfortunately the building was found to be beyond repair. At an EGM it was decided, following a vote from the parishioners, that the current building was to be demolished and funds were to be raised for a new build which will cater for the present as well as the future. See our Project News page for current developments. The photo below was taken in 1910 of the village hall.

What We Want to Do
Rebuild for the future
The above images were created by Patrick who is a resident of Bottlesford and shows what the hall could look like. The new hall will be a space for the local parishioners and others. Following the Queen's Jubilee speech about togetherness, we felt the below encapsulates exactly why we are rebuilding the hall:
Quote from FROM DEFRA Jubilee press release 28 May 2022
"At the heart of rural life and communities, village halls are home to fitness classes, coffee mornings, community groups, jumble sales, art clubs and other services – even in the most remote of locations. They often provide the only place for a community to meet and socialise locally and are vital in tackling loneliness, providing a lifeline for those who can’t travel long distances.
Village halls provide the focal point for village life. They support important services and facilities and offer places to meet which would not otherwise be available to many rural communities. Bigger, brighter, contemporary spaces will encourage more people to make use of their village halls, and bring people together.
Many village halls create a real beating heart to their parishes that not only provides vital services but also reaches out to the vulnerable, isolated and lonely".
We are currently applying for grants to support the main build. You can also support us by donating.
